The other day my friend and I were driving out of downtown Charleston and heading home. It's been raining all week here and it had finally cleared up downtown.
But then we caught a glimpse of what we were heading towards. Big thunder clouds.
But, we braced ourselves for the rain that was about to engulf us and headed towards the storm anyways.
And then I thought, isn't that how life is? We head towards the storm, knowing it's going to be rough and hard. But, we know God has things for us on the other side. And the only way for good things to happen, is to go through that storm.
Last year at school, I was in the biggest storm of my life. But, that's where I learned so much about God and about myself. I was tested and I grew and now I'm on the other side, and I'm able to say that going through the storm was necessary.
So, to anyone who's about to go into the storm, or anyone who's in the storm right now, listen to this. It's worth it. It's where the good stuff happens. And I'm praying for you!

Those are some insane clouds! But that's a great way to look at it. My storm is coming in about a month when I head out to college!
ReplyDeleteIt's gonna be great! I'm praying for you! And let me know if you need anything!
DeleteThis makes me think that many times are blessings come through raindrops and storms are here to make us stronger. This is a beautiful post, Charlie!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely! Thank you so much, Gina!
DeleteOh yes, my storm is also coming. I will be starting my Master in September. But what the storm does is help us appreciate the sunny days afterwards and overall, it always has its silver lining :)
ReplyDeleteOh, I will be praying for you! You have a great outlook on it, though!
DeleteNowhere else to go but forward :) Thanks for sharing Charlie. Stay safe!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely!
DeleteXO!!! I love this post! I used to pray, "God please just let "XYZ" be easy and smooth sailing" .... I don't pray that anymore because yes, just like you- often times the really rough chapters are the ones that taught me some serious lessons and brought me closer to God. So now I just pray, "God, I pray that you bless this road and make it good." Because even when things get hard- I think we can most certainly feel comfort in knowing- God will make it good.
ReplyDeleteSo true! It's definitely a hard lesson to learn, but it's so true!
Deletethis is a great post! I went through a storm last year at school as well and during that time, I couldn't understand why it was happening to me... but now that I'm out of it and the sun is shining on the other side... I can clearly see why God led me through it and how my life is better off now. thank you for this! :)
ReplyDeleteIsn't it cool how He shows us why He did what He did? I love seeing all the pieces form together!
DeleteA storm is coming my way - going to college and stuff - but I pray that God will help me become stronger through it!
ReplyDeletePraying for you! Let me know if you ever need anything!
Deletea great encouragement - He knows the storms we are going to encounter! and we will never be alone in them. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteYes, He does! Isn't it such a comfort knowing that He's got us?
DeleteMy first year of college was a storm as well. I don't entirely know how I made it through other than God and therapy. But I think the whole year taught me so much about everything. They may suck but storms typically help us grow in the long run.

Absolutely! It's hard sometimes, but He's always got us covered and there's always a plan!
